LONDON — Gerard Delofeu's late goal earned Everton a deserved 1-1 draw at Premier League leader Arsenal Sunday after Mesut Ozil's strike seemed set to seal three points for the home side. An absorbing clash which sizzled throughout caught fire in the closing stages as Ozil swept Arsenal in front from close range in the 80th minute and substitute Delofeu fired a powerful shot past Wojciech Szczesny four minutes later. Olivier Giroud almost snatched victory in stoppage-time for the host when his 30-meter thunderbolt thumped against the woodwork. The draw left Arsenal on 35 points, five clear of Liverpool and Chelsea after 15 games with Everton, which has lost only in the league, fifth on 28. Earlier, goals from Steve Sidwell and Dimitar Berbatov helped Fulham end a six-match losing streak with a 2-0 home victory over Aston Villa. Sidwell struck from a tight angle on 21 minutes and Berbatov rolled in a cheeky penalty on the half hour as Fulham dominated. Fulham, who sacked manager Martin Jol last week and replaced him with fellow Dutchman Rene Meulensteen, moved to 13 points alongside West Ham United who are one place above the relegation zone owing to a superior goal difference. Arsenal draws Spurs Arsenal hosts north London rival Tottenham Hotspur in the standout tie in the draw for the third round of the FA Cup made Sunday. Struggling Manchester United will be at home to fellow Premier League side Swansea City, Chelsea is away to Championship side Derby County while Manchester City, beaten finalist last season, visits Blackburn Rovers. Wigan Athletic, which surprisingly beat City in the final in May before being relegated from the top flight, begins its defense against third tier MK Dons. There will be three all Premier League ties, played in the first week of January, with Norwich City at home to Fulham, Newcastle United vs. Cardiff City and West Bromwich Albion at home to Crystal Palace. Liverpool could face League One (third tier) Oldham Athletic which stunned it in last year's competition, providing Oldham overcome Mansfield Town. None of the three minor league clubs definitely through to the third round were handed glamor ties, leaving the north London derby as the main talking point of the draw. Arsenal and Tottenham have not met in the world's oldest domestic cup competition since the Gunners beat Spurs in the 2001 semifinal. Third-tier Olimpic holds Real Real Madrid was held to an embarrassing 0-0 draw at third-tier Olimpic de Xativa in the King's Cup last 32, first leg Saturday as it came down to earth with a bump after a series of big wins. Real, the world's richest club by income, was missing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Xabi Alonso but a team packed with internationals still failed to see off lowly opponent at its tiny stadium near Valencia. In Saturday's other first legs, holders Atletico Madrid eased to a 4-0 win at third-tier Sant Andreu thanks to an Arda Turan double and a goal apiece from David Villa and Raul Garcia. Athletic Bilbao was beaten 1-0 at La Liga rival Celta Vigo, Getafe was held to a 1-1 draw at second-division Girona and Levante lost 1-0 at Recreativo Huelva, which also plays in the second tier. Barcelona, the record winner with 26 King's Cups, conceded a surprise early goal in its first leg at third-tier Cartagena Friday but a Pedro double helped them fight back to secure a 4-1 victory. — Agencies
