MANAMA – Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministers of Interior at a meeting here on Thursday agreed to establish a joint police force. The ministers assigned a working team from the GCC ministries of interior to study the organizational, financial and administrative aspects in this connection. They confirmed that the establishment of this security apparatus will boost work among GCC countries and expand fields of joint cooperation and coordination between the security authorities. GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullateef Rashed Al-Zayani said that that the GCC Ministers of Interior approved the results of the two meetings of undersecretaries of ministries of interior on the necessary measures against the interests of Hezbollah, those affiliated with it and those cooperating with it in the GCC countries. Earlier in the meeting, Minister of Interior of Bahrain and Chairman of the meeting Sheikh Rashed Bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa said that the preliminary agreement between Iran and world powers on its nuclear dossier put the onus on the parties to clarify to the leaders and peoples of the region on the deal that it serves regional stability and security. It should not be at the expense of the security of any of the GCC countries,” he said.
