Muhammad Al-Sulami Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – The management of Saudi Arabian Airlines organized a field trip for the media and travel agents on Sunday to have a closer look at the features of the new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft at King Abdulaziz International Airport. Abdullah Al-Ajhar, Assistant Executive Director General for Public Relations, and other senior officials of Saudia, received the media delegation. Speaking on the occasion, Al-Ajhar said Saudia took delivery of the new aircraft recently. “We have received 10 Boeing airplanes out of the current backlog of 20 Boeing airplanes on order. We will continue taking delivery of these airplanes until getting the last one by the beginning of 2016,” he said. Referring to the features of B777-300ER aircraft, he said the airplane, the first-of-its-type to be fitted with a three-class cabin configuration, offers a full range of services, including five star facilities. The Boeing 777-300ER has its unrivalled fuel efficiency, reliability and passenger comfort. Al-Ajhar said the national carrier has scored remarkable achievements and success in 2013, and these included launching services to a number of destinations, including Madrid and Toronto. “Saudia has been chosen as the best airline in the Middle East during the current year,” he said.
Moreover, the airline has worked out a strategic plan to boost the fleet with 90 new Boeing and Air Bus aircraft.
