I think that the Congress party is right in requesting the Indian Election Commission to ban opinion polls as they may lead to the disruption of the smooth functioning of democratic principles. The BJP party has always resorted to instigating the masses and it does not seem to know how to peacefully contest an election. The party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has said that he will defeat the Congress party in both the opinion polls and polling. Democracy does not mean that false information should be circulated that may be detrimental to the mindset of the people. In a democratic country, elections should be fought on the basis of genuine democratic principles, which prohibit the spreading of falsehood among the masses. In addition to this, opinion polls should be banned as they will serve the vested interest of some parties. It is a well-known fact that political parties, like the BJP, which believe in creating riots and division among the masses on the basis of caste, creed and religion, will leave no stone unturned to deceive the masses through the use of opinion polls. The corrupt mind of Modi was very apparent when he said that the masses should be given the right to free speech. If this is the case, then why was the BJP after the blood of the late M.F. Hussain, when he depicted in his painting something related to the Hindu religion. Where then was the freedom of speech for Hussain? When there is something good for the BJP, the party will raise the concept of freedom of speech, and when there is something bad for the party, it will create a ruckus in the country. The hypocrisy and double standards of the BJP are well known, and the well-informed masses know the dirty politics of the BJP. I am 100 percent certain that Modi's dream of delivering a speech in the Red Fort will never be realized and that the BJP will face a humiliating defeat in the upcoming elections.
