Sources at the Ministry of Justice have revealed that a Civil Status judge is to be assigned in every court to hear women's cases. The move has been motivated by a marked increase in the number of cases involving women and numerous complaints over delays in rulings and the subsequent failure to guarantee women's material and moral rights. The move comes against the background of an overhaul of the judiciary and hopes to accelerate the carrying out of cases brought by female citizens, notably those concerning divorce, forced separation, financial rights and commercial disputes. The sources further revealed that the Ministry has launched an information service for marriage seekers, permitting members of the public to contact the Ministry and request the telephone numbers of marriage officials in various districts. The Ministry's electronic service has allowed visitors to its website access to names of all such officials as well as their contact numbers throughout the Kingdom. – Okaz __
