Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH – A farewell party was organized here recently for prominent Indian community leader and Islamic scholar Jamal Muhyuddin Aluwai who returned to Kerala for good. Speakers at the function highlighted his extraordinary leadership qualities and scholarly approach in addressing issues and solving community problems. C.H. Basheer presided over the function organized by the Jeddah North Zone Chapter of Thanima Social and Literary Forum. Thanima Vice President C.K. Muhammad Najeeb, A.K. Saidalavi, Nisar Khaleel, Fasal Kochi, Abdullatief Karinganad, K.H. Abdurahim, Ashraf, Najmuddin, N.K. Abdurahim, Umer Abubacker, C.K. Mammad, and V. Mumthas Ashraf delivered felicitation speeches. In his farewell speech, Aluwai thanked the members of the community for their wholehearted support and cooperation which enabled him to shoulder his responsibilities effectively as president of the Saudi Chapter of Thanima Forum and other community organizations. Aluwai is an eminent scholar who completed his studies from Al-Azhar University of Cairo, Jeddah's King Abdulaziz University and King Saud University (KSU) of Riyadh. A graduate in computer science and electrical engineering, Aluwai obtained his master's degree from KSU. He served as an IT specialist in General Authority of Civil Aviation here and some other private companies. He also worked under the Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning. Aluwai's wife Suleikha Yaaqub served as the president of the women's wing of Thanima. The couples have five sons.
