I am writing with regard to the article "Domestic violence — women fight back!" (Oct. 8). Men who abuse women are insecure. They simply cannot prevail in a discussion with their wives, and they feel trapped and cornered. They are not "man" enough to admit it, so they revert to their physical superiority to win. Yet if you ask such a "man" what he would do if his sister was abused by her husband, he would tell you: "I will break his hand"! Go figure! If men do not accept the abuse of their sisters, but freely abuse their wives, then they should be not called humans, and animals should be locked in a cage! T. Tawfiq, Online response
