MAKKAH — Police in Makkah arrested five Saudis for allegedly breaking into a number of schools and stealing equipment. Police said two members of the self-styled Sakwa gang were 17 years old while the other three were 24 years old. Makkah police spokesman Lt. Col. Abdulmuhsen Al-Maiman said the gang stole presentation equipment, computers and mobile phones from the schools. They are also suspected of stealing batteries from trucks in Makkah neighborhoods. Police were able to identify the location of one of the suspects and arrest him. He led the officers to the other suspects. The men were arrested, but not before the leader tried to commit suicide by hanging himself and slitting his wrists. He was taken to hospital.
