With regard to the letter “Authorities must discipline airport staff” (Sep. 26), I still remember when I first time arrived in the Kingdom in July of this year. I waited more than three and a half hours to be able to be processed through immigration. It was the most unprofessional behavior by immigration staff which I have ever seen in my life at any international airport. Moreover, it left a very bad impression on someone coming to Saudi Arabia for the first time. The government should take stern action against those involved so that visitors will have a better impression of the country. Javed Ahmed, Online response II. I arrived at Jeddah airport three years ago for the first time with my wife and our two children. Our plane arrived at 10 at night and we left the airport at 2 AM completely exhausted. The staff was not just slow and incompetent, they were rude and had no manners. This was the worst airport experience we have ever had. Saudi authorities need to pay attention to this as it reflects negatively on the image of this wonderful country. Anonymous, Online response
