RIYADH — Americana has opened its first LongHorn Steakhouse in the Middle East in Saudi Arabia's Riyadh city, the Kuwait Food Company said on Friday. Best known for its atmosphere and flavor of the American West, the new LongHorn Steakhouse will offer a rich menu with legendary and expertly grilled premium steaks. The restaurant opened its doors in Riyadh on June 7 this year. LongHorn Steakhouse chain enjoys immense popularity in US with more than 350 restaurants. It opened its first restaurant in Atlanta, US, 29 years ago and has grown steadily — becoming renowned for its passion for grilling delicious, premium steaks served in a relaxed, comfortable steakhouse atmosphere that prides itself on genuine Western hospitality. Darden Restaurants, Inc., LongHorn Steakhouse's parent company, has entered into an agreement with Kuwait Food Company, Americana, for franchise rights to open 10 LongHorn restaurants in the region. To date, Americana operates more than 1,200 restaurants with 45,000 employees in the region. The upcoming LongHorn Steakhouse opening will be in Riyadh.— SG
