Canon rolls out apps to hasten documentation
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 11 - 09 - 2013

CANON Middle East, world-leader in imaging solutions, is helping its partners to better respond to their customers' mobile working habits with the release of CaptureOnTouch Mobile Tool Kit for iOS and CaptureOnTouch Mobile SDK for Android. These new software toolkits enable Canon partners to develop apps – allowing for functionalities such as batch scanning – for Canon's imageFORMULA document scanners1 to further accelerate document capture processing in organizations.
Supporting Canon's CaptureOnTouch Mobile, a free app enabling to capture multiple documents quickly to iOS and Android devices and share them immediately to cloud applications or pre-defined office workflows, the toolkits will allow Canon partners to enrich their existing apps, or create customer-specific ones, with features such as duplex batch scanning, auto deskew, auto page size detection, skip blank page and setting the scan quality. Through this, partners can offer customers the convenience of bundling fast document capture features with jobs such as processing sales orders, invoices or approving HR requests, in one simple app.
Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director at Canon Middle East, said “with mobile working and connectivity to cloud services on the rise, organizations are looking for ways to ensure their business processes can cope with the demands of employees working more remotely and making use of smart devices.
According to our Office Insights Report, European workers want to be mobile with a third now working remotely more often compared to a few years ago, and consider mobile technology like laptops, tablets and smartphones as crucial in enabling them do their job.”
“Canon has released these development toolkits to support partners in helping their customers manage a more flexible and mobile workforce, and to process documents more efficiently by utilizing smart device technologies and our imageFORMULA document scanners.”
The CaptureOnTouch Mobile Tool Kit for iOS, and CaptureOnTouch Mobile SDK for Android can be downloaded from the Canon Business Solutions Developer Programme website.
