RIYADH — Religious scholars working for branches of the Presidency for Research and Fatwas (Ifta) that have been opened or expected to operate soon throughout the Kingdom are to be referred as “Ifta members” and not by any other titles, said the presidency. Some sections of the media and social networking websites were referring to them as “regional muftis”. They are directly linked to the Grand Mufti, said presidency spokesman Sulaiman Abu Abah. Branches in the Eastern Province and Asir province have opened and started operating since Aug. 18. The remaining branches will open soon throughout the Kingdom.
