Houda Mzioudet TRIPOLI — Border controls and smuggling of arms and goods were the main subjects under discussion when the Prime Minister, Ali Zidan, met with Tunisian Foreign Minister Othman Jarandi here, Thursday. The meeting was also attended by Libyan Foreign Minister Mohamed Abdulaziz, Tunisian presidential adviser Adnan Mansar and Tunisian Ambassador to Libya Ridha Boukadi. “It was a short consultative visit,” said Aroussi Gontassi, adviser to Tunisian ambassador, told the Libya Herald. Jarandi handed a letter to Zidan from Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki, the content of which was not disclosed. Plans to strengthen bilateral cooperation in fighting terrorist organizations and economic cooperation between both countries were also discussed during the meeting. It comes a day after Tunisian authorities declared Ansar Al-Shariah as a terrorist organization and Tunisian Minister of Interior Lotfi Ben Jeddou disclosed the names of suspects wanted in connection with the assassination of prominent Tunisian politicians Chokri Belaid and Mohamed Brahmi. — Libya Herald
