Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The Passport Directorate has said that it has completed half of its e-service system that aims to allow service seekers complete their transactions online instead of having to physically visit their local Passport Department office, Al-Hayat daily reported. The system will reduce queues at Passport departments, said directorate spokesman Lt. Col. Ahmad Al-Lihidan. He said the directorate is working on completing the project, which can be accessed through Abshir online services at the Ministry of Interior's portal. All citizens and expatriates should use the new online system once it is up and running, instead of going to a Passport Department office. The spokesman blamed expeditors and some service seekers for the long lines at passport departments during the grace period for illegal workers to correct their status.
