MUMBAI — Sonakshi Sinha was criticized for taking a mature role of Pakhi in “Lootera” very early in her career, as critics and others thought that Sinha may not be able to justify the character. The talented actress, however, took it up as a challenge and proved otherwise. “After Dabangg people saw me in a particular kind of cinema. I heard comments like ‘This is too early in your career', ‘You may not be able to pull it off', ‘You need to be mature for something like this.' I was irritated and decided to prove everyone wrong. I tried doing something experimental and I am happy that I was able to carry it off,” said Sinha who has earned accolades for her performance in “Lootera” She credits director Vikramaditay Motwane for bringing out the best in her. — SG
