With regard to the letter “A big shame” (July 8), it is very sad to hear that the children of Saudi mothers and non-Saudi fathers have been deprived of their basic rights and that their mothers are forced to sponsor their children as "domestic workers." The children of Saudis are Saudi, not Indian, Pakistani, Egyptian or African. They are children of Saudi women who should be given Saudi nationality to end all discrimination against them. Saudi women are also citizens of this country Ann, Online response II. It really is a shame that the children of a Saudi mother and a non-Saudi father are not considered citizens of this country. And what makes it worse is that they can be deported to their father's country even though they have never stepped into that country at any time in their lives. This is one of the worst forms of discrimination, not just toward the child, but also toward the Saudi mother belittling her as a human being. This is injustice in one of its worst forms.
