Turki Al-Fadhli Okaz/Saudi Gazette RIYADH — Muhammad Al-Salman, the father of a six-year-old girl who was slaughtered by the family's Ethiopian domestic helper, said he hopes that authorities carry out the death sentence as soon as possible as this will alleviate the family's pain and anguish. He said the family decided to move out from their home as the memory of their slain daughter Lamis is haunting them everywhere in the house. “Lamis's mother, brothers and sisters can't forget her and keep remembering her all the time. We need to find another place.” He confirmed to Okaz/Saudi Gazette that he has not received any calls from Ethiopian Embassy officials and no one offered him condolences from the embassy. He said the maid's family kept calling him from Ethiopia the night Lamis was murdered. He was surprised how they got his cell number. Abdul Aziz Al-Awan, a relative who closely followed the case proceedings, dismissed reports that the domestic worker cut off Lamis's fingers. He confirmed that Lamis's throat was slit with a meat cleaver. “We didn't let her father see her body as we were very worried that he would not survive the sight. It was a horrible sight. We called the father and told him Lamis was badly hurt.” Al-Awan, recounted the events of the night Lamis was brutally killed. On the night Lamis went missing, her mother called her relatives and told them her daughter went to give some food to the domestic worker and had not come back. It never occurred to Lamis's mother that her daughter was slaughtered. She assumed that Lamis was kidnapped.
