MAKKAH — Six pilgrims were killed and 22 others injured when a bus carrying pilgrims from Madinah to Makkah crashed on the side of the road. Four of the six victims were Egyptian. According to a police report, the bus was driving behind a truck carrying copper cables. Some of the cargo fell on the road in front of the bus. The driver tried to avoid it and in the process crashed on the side of the road. Officials from the Saudi Red Crescent and helicopter teams helped in evacuating the injured to nearby hospitals. Police are still investigating the accident.
