Abdulrahman Al-Ali Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — The police have arrested an Indian worker after establishing his involvement in trying to cast a magic spell on his employer. The worker, aged 33, received an envelope from his country containing suspicious material with which he wanted to cast a magic spell on his employer, but the envelope was seized before the worker could get hold of it. The worker's intention was to get rich quickly. An official at the post office suspected an envelope from India addressed to an Indian expatriate. Immediately, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) was informed. The envelope was found to contain papers with certain strange writings used for magic and sorcery spells. A trap was set to catch the addressee red-handed. The trap was set in such a way that the postman was replaced with a police detective. The addressee was called to receive the envelope from the post office. When the worker got to the counter, he was asked to name the contents of the envelope, to which he replied that the contents were supposed to make him rich instantly. He was immediately taken in for investigations. The whole thing completely unnerved the worker, who had taken all precautions not to arouse any suspicion. Upon sustained interrogation, the suspect admitted his crime. He said he wanted to cast a magic spell on his employer in order to get rich quickly. Jeddah Police spokesman First Lt. Nawaf Al-Bouq confirmed that the worker has been detained pending complete investigations.
