JEDDAH — Security officials and members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice raided the house of two Yemenis in Jeddah's Al-Kandra District following a tipoff that they were practicing sorcery. It was alleged that one of the men used verses from the Qur'an to scam victims while the other man would act as a broker. Women would hire them to cast magic spells to ensure their husbands stayed faithful to them. The man who was accused of actually casting the spells admitted that he constantly took advantage of people who believed he had spiritual powers, police said. First Lt. Nawaf Al-Bouq, Jeddah Police spokesman, warned the public not to deal with such fraudsters and report them to the security authorities. — SG
