Sultan Al-Sughair Saudi Gazette DAMMAM – Asharqia Chamber's secretary-general Abdulrahman Al Wabel said that the depth of relations between the Kingdom and Germany has contributed to strengthening economic relations between the two countries. “The economic relations between the Kingdom and Germany is full of achievements and cooperation in many important sectors in the Kingdom, such as technology and construction,” he said during the opening ceremony of the German Catalogs Exhibition Tuesday. Al Wabel called German companies to invest in the Kingdom and seize the opportunity of the facilities offered by Saudi Arabia to foreign investors, pointing to a huge investment led by Saudi Aramco, Sabic and Ma'aden in Jubail 1 and 2 and the area of Ras Al Khair. He said “the latest statistics confirm the efforts to enhance trade relations as German exports to the Kingdom increased by 20 percent, to SR40.1 billion in 2012.” “The value of German exports to the Kingdom in the first two months of 2013 amounted to SR7.3 billion which represents an increase of 15 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, making Germany the third-largest supplier to the Saudi market.” The expanded meeting for security services sector in the Eastern Province called for more control of component authorities over unlicensed companies that operate in the sector and lower the price of their offers to win security contracts. The meeting, which was held Tuesday at the headquarters of chamber's Chamber in Dammam, revealed that unlicensed companies have many problems with contractors as they bid with unrealistic prices in order to win tenders from companies requesting security services and then do not follow of the agreements, which negatively affects companies licensed by relevant government agencies. — SG
