RIYADH — The Ministry of Health has revealed the closure of 23 private healthcare facilities all over the Kingdom in the month of Jamad Al-Thani (April 11-May 10). “This was a result of the random rounds carried out by inspection teams on the healthcare facilities,” the ministry said in a statement on Monday. “These rounds will continue as part of the ministry's commitment to continuous monitoring of the healthcare facilities in the private sector and end any violation of instructions, regulations and laws concerning medical practice in the Kingdom.” According to Ali Al-Zawawi of the Ministry of Health, 493 violation were reported so far this year by health directorates in different parts of the Kingdom. “Though the private sector is a major partner with the Ministry of Health in providing healthcare services, we will not allow any violations from the sector, simply because of the commitment to provide the best services to citizens and residents,” he said. Al-Zawawi pointed out the violations detected in various hospitals, healthcare centers and pharmacies included under-staffing, employing personnel without valid licenses, and lack of professional standards or compliance with regulations while providing the service.
