Yesterday it was announced with much fanfare that the Ministry of Labor had allocated online links in eight languages to help expatriates better understand the exemptions and guidelines related to the correction of worker status in the Kingdom. The link bit.ly/Arabic_msg was for Arabic speaking expatriates and bit.ly/English_msg was for English speaking expatriates. Indian workers were directed to the link bit.ly/Hindi_msg. The link bit.ly/Indonesian_msg was allocated for Indonesians, bit.ly/Malayalam_msg for Malayam speakers, bit.ly/Tagalog_msg for Filipinos, bit.ly/Turkish_msg for Turks and bit.ly/Urdu_msg for Urdu speakers. Apparently the links led to a Dropbox account and with so much traffic from individuals desperate to find out how to rectify their status, Dropbox cut off service to the account! The Dropbox help center mentions that the account will be suspended if more than 20GB per day is downloaded from the account. The sad thing is that with all the funds poured into eGovernment in recent years, such information was still hosted at Dropbox.
