RIYADH – The Riyadh Special Criminal Court sentenced Wednesday eight terror suspects to jail terms ranging from ten to 25 years while imposing a travel ban on all the suspects to the number of years served. Four suspects were awarded 25 years in prison while two of them were awarded 10-year jail terms. The remaining two were sentenced to 20 and 12 years respectively. The court also imposed a travel ban equal to the years of their imprisonment, Saudi Press Agency reported. The convicts can appeal their verdicts within 30 days. Charges against the convicted personnel included calling for assassinating officials of the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution, sending threatening text messages to some of the officials and planning to kidnap them, setting fire to vehicles of security officials, targeting non-Muslims, embracing Al-Qaeda ideology, and possession of weapons to kill security officials.
