Fahd Al-Manaee Saudi Gazette MAKKAH — The Makkah municipality destroyed 30 farms that were irrigated by sewage, according to the local authority's environmental health department. The farms were located in Makkah's Hadda, Al-Umrah and Al-Sharaei areas. The municipality's markets department committee has conducted more than 400 field inspection rounds and confiscated more than 11,000 packs of illegal medication, statistics compiled by the municipality showed. It registered 294 cases against violating shops and 55 illegal workers. Dr. Mohammad Futawi, manager of the environment health department, said the field inspections were in accordance with plans conducted on a weekly basis. These rounds are conducted all year round, he added, and are increased during the Umrah and Haj seasons.
