RIYADH—The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance has begun implementing the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Gift Program, including the Luxury Dates Gift Program, which was launched through the offices of the religious attachés at the Saudi embassy in Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, to support more than 28,000 Muslim beneficiaries across the country. The launching ceremony was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Nepal Saad Abu Humaid, Chairman of the Islamic Commission Shamim Ansari, Member of Parliament Khalid Siddiqui, and Supervisor of Preachers Sheikh Abdul Qayyum. During the ceremony, seven tons of dates were delivered to a number of charitable societies and Islamic centers to distribute among over 28,000 Muslims in Nepal. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Gift Program, which is supervised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance, is tasked with distributing dates in 102 countries around the world, with a quantity reaching 700 tons of dates, an increase of 200 tons over the last year. This move reflects the keenness of the wise leadership on taking care of Muslims around the world during the holy month of Ramadan.
