RIYADH — The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority recorded seizure of 1405 cases of contraband at the customs of Saudi land, sea and air ports. The seized items included 37 types of narcotics, such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, shabu, and Captagon pills, in addition to 901 prohibited substances. The seizure was part of the ongoing efforts made by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority to enhance the security aspect and protect society from contraband of all kinds and forms. The Customs outlets also witnessed foiling of 2318 tobacco and its derivatives, in addition to 23 types of money, and 8 types of weapons and their accessories. The authority reiterated that it is continuing to tighten customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports so as to achieve the security and protection of society, in cooperation and continuous coordination with all its partners from the relevant authorities. It called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy.
