Published in The Saudi Gazette on 09 - 05 - 2013

DUBAI — Hyatt Hotels has announced the completed conversion of its four newly acquired iconic hotels in France, more than doubling the number of Hyatt locations in the country.Grand Hyatt Cannes Hotel Martinez, Hotel du Louvre , Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile and Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Mediterranée are now fully operational as Hyatt properties, in time for the heavy summer draw from the Gulf states.“The rebranding of these four properties to Hyatt-branded hotels in France, in time for peak travel over the summer months, represents Hyatt's continued growth in key gateway cities. Gulf travelers are already well aware of the Hyatt brand within the region and in France itself, and are well aware of what to expect from a Hyatt guest experience, and we expect many GCC visitors to these new properties over the summer period and beyond,” said Tareq Daoud, regional vice president global sales - Middle East, for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts Southwest Asia.Paris continues to see an influx of visitors year on year, with 36.9 million overnights recorded in 2011. After London, Paris has the largest number of hotel rooms in Europe with the majority of hotel visitors (more than 54 percent) representing foreign visitors, according to a recent Paris Tourism Office report's key figures. A recent report on hotel occupancy puts the number of bed nights from the GCC region in Paris at 1.7 million for 2012, up more than 15 percent on the previous year. “Paris and Cannes are France's two most important cities for business and leisure travel, and Nice is one of the most in-demand resort areas in the world,” said Peter Fulton, Group President, EAME/Southwest Asia for Hyatt.
