With regard to the article “Don't expect too much compassion” (May 8), it is true that there are some women who are not very maternal and who can show harsh responses to children. However, it is acknowledged that primary school children of both sexes do better with female teachers who usually are able to be in tune with the needs of young children. Faisal, Online response II. Young children need to see both male and female role models so that they have a balanced view of society. The world is made up of both males and females.
