RIYADH —The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts launched the "Wrth Community" initiative, its first initiative for the Year of Handicrafts, coinciding with the declaration of 2025 as the Year of Handicrafts. The initiative aims to be a platform for reviving and developing handicrafts by integrating them with modern design and technologies, and enhancing cooperation between institutions and the local community; to enhance cultural identity. The "Wrth Community" includes a variety of fields, including education, handicrafts, and entrepreneurship, in addition to dialogue sessions; aiming to exchange experiences and develop skills in an environment that stimulates creativity and innovation. The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts is a leading entity that highlights national identity and enriches Saudi traditional arts locally and globally. This step comes within the framework of the Institute's efforts to enhance awareness of traditional crafts and develop them, thus contributing to spreading the culture of traditional arts and expanding the scope of their practice. It also works to preserve the origins of traditional arts, support national capabilities and talents, and encourage generations to learn and develop them, in addition to honoring those who excel in this field and promoting living treasures that embody the ancient Saudi heritage.
