At least 96 Palestinians were killed and 60 others injured in Israeli airstrikes on the northern and central Gaza Strip on Sunday, according to local authorities. Gaza's government media office reported that Israeli warplanes targeted multiple residential buildings and homes in Beit Lahia and the refugee camps of Nuseirat and Bureij in central Gaza. The attacks left 72 dead in Beit Lahia and 24 more in central Gaza, with 60 others injured, the office confirmed in a statement. "The occupation army was aware that dozens of displaced civilians were inside these buildings, and that the majority of them were children and women who had been displaced from their neighborhoods," the statement said, calling on the international community to condemn what it described as "horrific massacres against displaced civilians." The statement further demanded accountability for "the Israeli government and its international backers, including the US, the UK, Germany, and France." In another airstrike in the same area, 15 people were killed and several injured, while a separate strike claimed two lives, according to medical sources. — Agencies
