RIYADH — Saudi Arabia condemned on Thursday the terrorist attack that targeted a military base in the Lake Chad region. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom's condemnation of the terrorist attack targeting a military base in the Lake Chad region, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Saudi Arabia offered its deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Chad. The ministry wished the injured a speedy recovery, emphasizing the Kingdom's stance against all forms of violence and terrorism. The militant group Boko Haram attacked on the Chadian army at the western Ngouboua region near the Nigerian border, killing around 40 soldiers overnight Sunday. The attack reportedly struck at 10:00 pm local time, when Boko Haram members took control of the garrison, housing more than 200 soldiers, seized weapons, burnt vehicles equipped with heavy arms, and left.
