CAIRO — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan attended the 162nd Arab Ministerial Meeting in Cairo on Tuesday. The meeting discussed various aspects to consolidate joint Arab action in diverse fields and intensify multilateral coordination on Arab and international issues, particularly the Palestinian cause. The latest regional and international developments were also discussed at the meeting. Saudi Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Matar also attended the meeting. Prince Faisal bin Farhan participated in the second meeting of the Arab Ministerial Liaison Committee for direct dialogue with the Syrian government, held on the sidelines of the 162nd Arab Ministerial Meeting. Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit and several Arab ministers took part in the meeting, which discussed strengthening the Arab role in settling the Syrian crisis and addressing its political, security, and humanitarian consequences.
