OMODA C5 achieves top scores in ASEAN NCAP 5-star safety rating, establishing a new safety standard Total score 88.64
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 04 - 09 - 2024

star safety test results were officially released, and OMODA has consistently adhered to high-quality standards. Its first global model, the OMODA C5, excelled with the highest score in its class, achieving a total of 88.64 points. This performance secured the five-star safety certification, showcasing its leading strength in safety.
The OMODA C5 has previously received prestigious 5-star safety ratings from both the European NCAP and the Australian NCAP—two of the most authoritative and stringent new car safety certifications worldwide. In its latest achievement, the OMODA C5 successfully met ASEAN's rigorous safety standards during the first joint China-Malaysia test. The vehicle achieved perfect scores in 11 out of 18 test sub-categories, setting multiple records with its high scores.
Robust materials are fundamental to ensuring safety, and the OMODA C5 achieves vehicle robustness through a 78% high-strength steel coverage rate. Particularly in critical collision protection areas, the OMODA C5 uses ultra-high-strength steel and hot-formed steel rated at 1500 MPa, significantly enhancing body rigidity and increasing the safety index for users in local mobility.
The vehicle's body structure plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive safety protection. The OMODA C5 features an innovative "caged energy absorption" design, creating a caged, energy-absorbing structure that surpasses traditional vehicle body designs. This design, combined with a "three-way pressure distribution + bilateral four energy-absorbing boxes," effectively absorbs and disperses collision energy in both frontal and side impacts, ensuring cabin integrity. Additionally, the OMODA C5 is equipped with advanced restraint systems, including force-limiting seat belts and airbags, which work together to minimize occupant injuries and enhance safety for drivers and passengers.
Beyond its passive safety features, the OMODA C5 excels in active safety as well. The vehicle is equipped with advanced intelligent driving assistance technologies, including a 360° panoramic camera, full-range Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Braking System (AEB), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), and 16 other intelligent safety technologies. These features work together to enhance vehicle stability and control, significantly reducing the risk of accidents.
The OMODA C5's impressive scores and 5-star rating in this test strongly endorse its safety performance, reflecting OMODA's innovative spirit and commitment to quality. As a rising star in the global automotive market, OMODA consistently strives to deliver high-quality products and create value for customers worldwide through dedicated efforts.
