DHAHRAN — Saudi Aramco has announced the launch of Olfa Animal Care Company, a non-profit initiative dedicated to sheltering stray animals, providing veterinary healthcare, and controlling their breeding. The company's mission also includes raising awareness and offering services that support community efforts across Saudi Arabia to treat animals with compassion, in line with the principles of civilized behavior and the teachings of Islam. Nabil Al-Jamea, Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Saudi Aramco, highlighted that this initiative aligns with the company's longstanding commitment to social responsibility. He emphasized that the establishment of Olfa Animal Care Company is part of Aramco's efforts to enhance community awareness and contribute to animal welfare in the Eastern Province and across the Kingdom. Olfa has already signed an agreement with the Eastern Province Municipality to collaborate on various aspects of animal care. This partnership will focus on stabilizing animal reproduction, improving communication and reporting of stray animals in neighborhoods, and establishing care and rehabilitation centers. The initiative will also work on developing existing solutions, raising community awareness about the importance of animal welfare, and fostering a sense of responsibility in animal ownership. Additionally, it will offer a volunteer platform for those interested in contributing to animal care. The first phase of the initiative will see the launch of mobile veterinary clinics in the Eastern Province, providing essential services such as examinations, vaccinations, and sterilization. Olfa also plans to open its first animal shelter in Dammam in 2025.
