JEDDAH — Al-Ahli started their Saudi Pro League campaign with a perfect win, defeating newly-promoted Al-Orobah 2-0 in a match held at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah. The young star Abdulkarim Darisi brought joy to his team by scoring the first goal of the new season in the 34th minute, capitalizing on a brilliant shot from Ivorian player Franck Kessié. Al-Ahli had a second goal early in the second half through captain Roberto Firmino, but it was disallowed by the referee after consulting VAR for an offside. However, Firmino found the net again in the 80th minute, scoring a second goal for his team after another perfect cross from Kessié, sealing the victory. Meanwhile, in Dammam, Al-Qadsiah secured a valuable 3-0 win against their guest, Al-Fateh, at the Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Stadium. The goals for Al-Qadsiah came from Mexican forward Julian Quiñones, who opened the scoring in the 34th minute following a pass from Turki Al-Ammar. Abdulaziz Al-Othman added the second goal in the 73rd minute, and Quiñones struck again in injury time to complete the 3-0 victory. Al-Qadsiah, returning to the Saudi Pro League this season, made a fiery start in the opening round, positioning themselves as a team to watch in the upcoming rounds, especially with the significant signings they made this summer.
