The Arab Council for Innovation and Creativity, a specialized body within the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and the Environment, hosted a virtual seminar on August 3, 2024, with renowned Egyptian scientist Dr. Farouk El-Baz. The event was organized under Dr. Mohammed Al-Suraihi, with the coordination of council member Raghda Youssef, and overseen by Dr. Ashraf Abdel Aziz, Secretary General of the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and the Environment. Dr. Farouk El-Baz, who is the Director of the Center for Remote Sensing at Boston University in the United States and Honorary President of the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and the Environment, delivered a lecture titled "A journey towards the future: innovation and creativity for sustainable development and environmental protection." The seminar, which lasted over two hours, attracted the participation of approximately 496 professors and experts from across the Arab world who are members of the union and its specialized councils, as well as those interested in space science, innovation, and creativity. During the session, Dr. El-Baz spoke candidly about the challenges facing the Arab community, sharing his personal journey in the fields of science and education, and his determination to achieve his goals.
