ABHA — Prince Faisal Bin Khalid, Emir of Asir region, issued directives to solve the problem of a youth (M.Sh.), holding a reputable post in one of the governorates of the region, with the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (the Haia) following his arrest for harassing women.
A source said the Haia caught the youth harassing girls and arrested him, and then his case was referred to the pertinent authorities. The Emir was informed on the case and he took it upon himself to solve the problem. His solution was simple — make him tie the knot as soon as possible to tie him up with the marital issues.
Prince Faisal issued directives to the authorities concerned in the region to talk to the youth about the charges leveled against him.
The authorities imposed the Emir's condition to solve the problem. The youth agreed, and the case with the Haia was solved with all involved satisfied. The Haia getting a youth to act responsibly, the youth's reputation stayed intact and the authority, where he is working, would continue to benefit from his services. A win-win situation.
The source said the youth has set a date for his wedding and invited the region's Emir to attend. One of the officials in the governorate would attend the marriage on behalf of the Emir — not only to partake in the joyous occasion but also to verify the youth's intention and seriousness.
Meanwhile, the youth's family and people in the region admired Prince Faisal's initiative in the case — giving the youth a new lease of life.
