Ali Samman Okaz/Saudi Gazette AL-BAHA – A forensic medical report submitted to Prince Mishari Bin Saud, Emir of Al-Baha region, Saturday has concluded that the death of Abdulrahman Al-Ghamdi in Baljurashi following a car chase by members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (the Hai'a) was the result of a traffic accident. The Al-Baha governorate also issued a statement explaining the circumstances that led to the accident and the facts revealed by the investigators. While the accident does not belittle the efforts of the security patrols and the Hai'a, said the statement, the governorate does not accept such whimsical actions by the Haia members and there was no justification whatsoever for chasing Al-Ghamdi's car. It said the action was “not in conformity with the directives, tasks and responsibilities assigned to the security patrols and the Hai'a." At the same time, the governorate expressed its appreciation for dedicated efforts by the security men and the Hai'a personnel in general to ensure safety and peace for citizens and residents. The statement urged the public to heed calls by security officers and warned them against escaping when they are ordered to pull up.
