The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to witness the grand inauguration of the first-ever "Thailand Mega Fair," a spectacular business and entertainment event organized by Index Creative Village Public Company Limited in collaboration with the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand and Cosmos Events Company. Scheduled from December 13 to 16, 2023, at The Arena Riyadh, this groundbreaking exhibition aims to redefine Thailand's presence in the Middle East by showcasing premium and innovative Thai products and services across a multitude of sectors.
The Thailand Mega Fair 2023 marks a historic collaboration between Thailand and Saudi Arabia, fostering a new era of trade, investment, and cultural exchange. Speaking about this significant milestone, Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand, expressed his delight, saying, "On behalf of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand, we are very pleased to have the 1st edition of the Thai largest trade fair in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, namely 'Thailand Mega Fair.' This will be achieved through collaboration with Index Creative Village Public Company Limited, the Royal Thai Embassy to Saudi Arabia, our sponsors and supporters such as Siam Piwat, SCG International, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services PLC (BDMS), The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and YAK Green.
The Thailand Mega Fair 2023 promises to be a comprehensive showcase of Thailand's potential industries, the fair will encompass nine main sectors, including food & beverage, tourism & hospitality, MICE, smart agricultural and innovation, fragrances, health & wellness, auto part, luxury building and décor and lifestyle products.
Highlighting the diverse offerings, Mr. Sanan Angubolkul continued, "There will be more than 200 brands presenting over 1,000 products from Thai leading companies and SME entrepreneurs, which over 30 Thai SMEs are supported by the Office of SMEs Promotion (OSMEP) on SME export promotion in order to drive SMEs to grow with strength and sustainability. The fair will reinforce the brands and the awareness of the high quality of Thai products, with highlight products and services.
The Thailand Mega Fair 2023 is not only a trade fair but also a cultural extravaganza, featuring daily Thai performances showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Thailand. Attendees can expect an immersive experience of activities, including exclusive product launches, networking opportunities, and interactive demonstrations.
Moreover, the fair serves as a pivotal moment in diplomatic ties between Thailand and Saudi Arabia, fostering increased collaboration in trade, investment, tourism, and various other sectors. Mr. Sanan Angubolkul emphasized, "This year marks as a good sign of the diplomatic tie and a significant new beginning that will enhance trade, investment, tourism, and various other aspects of the relationship between Thailand and Saudi Arabia."
The Thailand Mega Fair 2023 is strategically aligned with the vision of public and private agencies such as the General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT), the Federation of Saudi Chambers, the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, and the Saudi-Thai Business Council. It aims to provide a robust platform for top leaders in public and private sectors of Saudi Arabia to access our vibrant market as well as to explore and strengthen economic opportunities among the two countries and Middle East tapping into international trade opportunities.
Chadatip Chutrakul, Chief Executive Officer of Siam Piwat Group, stated that Siam Piwat is one of the private sector entities that has had the opportunity to participate in the Thailand Mega Fair 2023 – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia event. The purpose is to present the beautiful image of Thailand's global destinations, including Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, ICONSIAM, and Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok, all of which serve as magnets attracting tourists from around the world. The importance of attracting tourists from the Central and East Asian region, especially from Saudi Arabia, is acknowledged. The number of tourists has increased from 96,000 in 2022 to 131,336 in the first 9 months of this year, making it the top destination in the Central and East Asian region. It is anticipated that the number of Saudi Arabian tourists will increase to 149,000 in 2023 and 156,000 in 2024. Siam Piwat is ready to collaborate with all partners to strengthen the tourism and service industry, elevating the experience for visiting tourists.
