With regard to the report "Are dependents of workers allowed to work or not?" (April 30), I would like to point out that more than 50 percent of teachers in almost all international schools are the wives of expatriate workers. This has been the practice for the past 20 years. In order to now legalize the situation, there are two options. 1. Keep the teachers and legalize them by giving them a contract. This is inexpensive and easy and qualified expats will remain in the Kingdom to further its development. This is a win-win situation. 2. Remove these teachers and hire new teachers on new visas. This is difficult and expensive and qualified expatriates may leave and may be difficult to replace. This is a lose-lose situation. Muhammed Sajid, Online response
