Published in The Saudi Gazette on 01 - 05 - 2013

At least 48 male graduates from Soliman Fakeeh Nursing College were taken on a guided “explanatory tour” at the Indomie factory here on of hygiene, food and work safety, including employees' benefits.
The company's production and quality control managers took the visitors on a tour through the “visitor galleries”where the five main production stages — quality control, warehousing, factory environment and employee benefits — were presented.
The officials explained that Indomie's factory relies on five of the world's most modern production lines, to produce their instant noodles “in conformity with all national and international safety standards to ensure the food quality of the product”.
These production lines run every day to operate 11 production steps from wheat selection to packaging and storing, they nursing graduates were told.
It was made clear to them that Indomie is very thorough when it comes to testing and verifying all contents used in its products before exporting them and even before producing them, the company said.
“In fact, before any raw material is brought into the factory, there is a thorough quality control and testing of these materials,” it added.
Samples of these materials are taken to the labs for testing and analysis to ensure purification. Once approved, the materials are deemed to be top quality as per the standards set and the full quantity is taken into the factory.
Each product of Indomie must be “100 percent healthy”, the officials told the future nurses, adding there is a quality control check at every stage of production where cleanliness and highest degree of care is executed, until the final product reaches packaging whereby it follows the highest of GSO, SASO and Codex regulations & policies to ensure best quality and sterilization of the product.
Indomie cartons are stored in the main warehouse of the factory that follows the conditions of the highest standards to ensure nutrients and product are well preserved for distribution.
“Indomie cares just as greatly about providing their human resources with an appropriate environment which enhances employee motivation for production as it considers the human capital as the most important resource,” the company said. – SG
