JEDDAH – The Arab Consuls General Group recently held a ceremony to honor renowned businessman Sheikh Saleh Kamel, president of the Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Dallah Al-Barakah Group, for his efforts in the field of trade and business in the Kingdom as well as Arab and Muslim regions.
The ceremony, which was held at the Hilton's Waves restaurant on Monday evening, began with the recitation of verses from Qur'an, followed by speeches from Algerian Consul General and Dean of Arab Consuls General Group, Saleh Atiyah, Ambassador Mohammad Ahmad Tayeb, Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Makkah, and Sheikh Saleh Kamel.
“Here we are as Arab consuls general celebrating and honoring Sheikh Saleh Kamel, the guest of honor. He is a unique personality in the field of business and finance. He is the founder and president of Dallah Al-Barakah Group and president of the World Association of Islamic Banks. Sheikh Kamel excelled and succeeded and is known for his resounding success,” Atyiah was quoted as saying.
Atiyah also praised Ambassador Tayyeb for his efforts to bridge communications and strengthen bonds between diplomatic corps and Saudi society.
During his speech, Ambassador Tayeb spoke about his long relationship with Sheikh Kamel and how he convinced him to join the presidency of JCCI.
Sheikh Kamel expressed his appreciation at being honored and thanked guests for their participation in the ceremony. His speech focused on Islamic banking and his businesses in Arab and Islamic countries. “Arab consuls general have always been partners in the success of any venture as they maintain relations with each other and among Arab countries,” Kamel concluded.
