The Business Owners Union (BOU) of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold its first conference in Jeddah on Friday and Saturday. The conference will be attended by Saleh Abdullah Kamel, Chairman of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Ali, Chairman of the Islamic Bank Group, and Ekmiluddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC). Heads of chambers of commerce in Muslim countries, and 1,000 businessmen and women representing the largest commerce, industry and service companies in 30 countries, will also participate. The event will introduce investment opportunities and the successful joint experiences of BOU members in Muslim countries. Also taking part in the conference are heads of 17 banks and chairmen of Arab chambers of commerce. Kamel said the conference delegates will discuss ways to strengthen ties among business owners in Muslim countries and encourage the exchange of expertise and views between BOU members. This is to increase the volume of trade and investment.
