RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan made a phone call on Thursday to his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis. During the conversation, the two ministers discussed the situation in Gaza and its surrounding regions, as well as the diplomatic efforts made to contain the conflict. The Saudi foreign minister confirmed the importance of stopping all forms of attacks targeting civilians in the area. Prince Faisal stressed the importance of all parties abiding by what is stipulated in international humanitarian law. The Saudi minister urged his Swiss counterpart, in view of his role as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, to work to ensure that the Council fulfills its responsibility to preserve international peace and security by pushing for an immediate cessation of military operations and lifting of the Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip. He also stressed the importance of the Security Council working to implement its resolutions on the Palestinian issue, specifically the resolutions 242/1967: 338/1973: 1515/2003: 2334/2016.
