ABHA — The Saudi Arabian Olympic football team kicked off their journey in the qualifiers for the 2024 Asian U-23 Championship in Qatar with a valuable victory over Mongolia, securing a 3-1 win. The Group 10 match took place in the city of Abha in southwestern Saudi Arabia. In the dying moments of the game, the Saudi team came from behind to clinch a vital win. Mongolia had initially taken the lead with an early penalty kick in the third minute. However, the Saudi team managed to equalize in the 87th minute through Musab Al-Juwayr, and Abdullah Radif added the second goal in extra time's ninth minute. Shortly after, Mohammed Maran sealed the deal with a third goal. The Saudi Olympic team, led by coach Saad Al-Shehri, is placed in Group 10, which includes Lebanon, Cambodia, and Mongolia. The qualifiers are scheduled to take place from September 6 to 12, 2023.
