Abdulrahman Al-Ali Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — For the sixth time, the Jeddah Administrative Court had to adjourn on Sunday a case involving two members of the Commission of the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (Haia) because witnesses failed to appear. The two members have been accused of hitting and beating up a young man few months ago while he was sitting inside his car outside a mall in south Jeddah. One of the Haia members asked the young man for his ID then started beating him up, causing him several injuries, according to the prosecutor general. The last hearing was postponed as well after one of the witnesses appeared in court before the session started then left few minutes later. The same thing happened on Sunday. Some sources expect that the court will hand down its final verdict in its next hearing.
