Saeed Al-Khotani Saudi Gazette RIYADH — Under the support of Princess Hessa Al-Shaalan, wife of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, female employees who have served the Ministry of Health for 20 years or more will be honored at a function here on Monday. “We highly praise this very kind gesture from the princess in honoring our female workers who have given us two decades' worth of service," Dr. Muneera Al-Osaimi, assistant deputy minister for support medical health services, said on Sunday. “The gesture is an extension of the continued great support King Abdullah is extending to women, especially in the health sector. “Also, we should commend the Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, for supporting the idea of honoring these female workers who have made great efforts and offered large contributions to healthcare service at a time when it was hard to recruit women in healthcare facilities.” The ceremony will take place at King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh, where around 400 of Ministry of Health administrative and health employees, including clerks, nurses and physicians, will be honored, according to event coordinator Sara Al-Jehaimi. The Ministry of Health has the second largest government department in the Kingdom that employs women after the Ministry of Education.
