When a buyer shows interest, he is then sent instructions on transferring the money to complete the deal. The con men would also send their victims a fake bill and the name of a bogus shipping company to make their deals seem legitimate. Prince Nayef said two Saudi were also duped in Greece and Cyprus last year. He said that the embassy has repeatedly warned citizens about such scams. The embassy has communicated with authorities in Greece and Cyprus regarding these gangs. However, authorities in the two countries claimed that these gangs have fake identifications and their telephone numbers are out of service. In addition, they said some of the gangs might take refuge in islands that are the subject of dispute between the two countries.
