RIYADH — Al-Ahli women have won the Saudi Women's Handball League Championship title by defeating Al-Nahda 23-8. The second edition of the championship, organized by the Saudi Arabian Handball Federation, was held at Prince Abdul Aziz bin Musaed City Hall in Hail. Ahmed Al-Rouzi, director of the branch of the Ministry of Sports in Hail, and Sarah Al-Shuraihi, member of the board of directors of the federation, presented the championship cup and gold medals to the winners. Al-Nahda women's team members, who became runner up, were given away with the trophy and silver medals, while Al-Jabalain team bagged third place in the competition. Sponsors and those who took part in organizing the event were also honored on the occasion. They included Hail Youth Council, Progressive Company and Institutions, branch of the Ministry of Sports in Hail, director of Youth Hostels in Hail, and director of Prince Abdulaziz City Hall in Hail. The qualifying rounds of the championship were held in a number of Saudi regions. Five teams had qualified for the final round and they were Al-Ahli, Al-Nahda, Al-Jabalain, Qaffar, and Arar.
